Govt to divest 74.23% stake held in THDCIL to NTPC

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has accorded 'In-principle' approval for strategic disinvestment of Government of India shareholding of 74.23% in Tehri Hydro Development Corporation India (THDCIL) along with transfer of management control to an identified CPSE strategic buyer, namely, NTPC.

NTPC is the largest power utility company in India and has presence in Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining.
